Bright things come in pairs, correct? Santa Claus, Milk and treats, Dan + Shay, Mrs. Claus, and now, two new holiday videos from the honor-winning duo. Showing up for Christmas 2020 with their first-since forever unique holiday tunes, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney are making the season brilliant with “Take Me Home for Christmas” and “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” and with the two activities directed by Patrick Tracy.
Writing (in lowercase) about “Christmas Isn’t Christmas” on Instagram, and the duo expressed, “this song is exceptionally close to our souls. Our families and friends and family inspired it in our lives that make the Christmas season unique. This year has been hard on us, every one of us, not having the option to associate with others (particularly our fans) face to face has truly incurred significant damage.”
They proceeded, “however, out of obscurity consistently comes light, and we feel music has a mystical method of uniting us, in any event, when we are far separated. Ideally, when you tune in to this tune, it presents to you a similar feeling of solace and expectation that it brings us. As usual, we are unfathomably thankful for all of you, and send so much love.”
Likewise, Dan + Shay are sharing the warm occasion sparkle with their families in the next video, “Take Me Home for Christmas.” Upon the single’s delivery in November, Dan Smyers expressed, “This is our first unique Christmas song, and we had a blast recording and writing it. It was cool to get in the occasion soul a little early this year since I figure we could all use some additional inspiration and cheer. Our fans have requested Christmas music consistently, so I hope all of you have as much fun tuning into it as we did making it.”
The duo’s numerous occasion appearances have included CMA Country Christmas recently, where they offered their first live execution of “Christmas Isn’t Christmas.”
The music video for the melody debuted on 13 November 2020, and from that point forward, it has gotten so much love. It highlighted Dan and Shay’s family and was the embodiment of seasonal joy.
