Live-action production features are getting lesser as days go by, which is why most studios are on an adventure to expand their animated content. Recently, Netflix landed the rights to the Blue Eye Samurai, their upcoming show. Michael Green and Amber Noizumi have been ordered to adapt the series to screen, and attached to the project are studded actors featured in some of the biggest shows.
The series announcement, however, came in 2002, and it’s almost two years, and we do not know what happened to its development. Netflix is yet to give updates, and neither has the series creator given us news on whether they finished writing the show or not. Here is everything we know about the upcoming Samurai series.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
The Blue Eye Samurai announcement came in 2020, but two years later, we have yet to receive any information about the series’ progress. We do not know how many episodes the series will have when filming starts or the location.
Since Netflix has yet to give out the filming or production updates, the Samurai series is likely still in its active development stage. Other Netflix projects sunk before they started, and the Samurai series might follow the same trend. If the series is still in development, it may be released in 2023 or 2024, depending on the creators’ preparedness.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 Plot: What would it be about?
Not so much is known about the Samurai series plot as Netflix is yet to delve deeper into the upcoming project. We know now that the upcoming series will be built on a time frame of over 400 years ago. It centers on Erskine, the mixed-race master whose whole life and existence are fueled by revenge. He is a master of the sword, and to avoid giving himself out, he lives a disguise to avoid being singled out from the crowd. The series will explore the themes of disguise and revenge. It will also give up a backstory of what led to the sword Master’s passion for vengeance.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 Cast: Who will be in?
The series has some exceptional talent attached to it, and we can already tell it will be quite the blast. Some of the cast featured in the series include Maya Erskine (Pen15), Masi Oka, Randall Park (Blockbuster), George Takei (Hit-Monkey), Brenda Song, Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), and Cary-Hiroyuki. Erskine is famous for playing Maggie in Man Seeking Woman, Takei as Hikaru Sulu in Star Trek, and Oka as Hiro Nakamura in Heroes. So far, Netflix has yet to tell us the official roles the cast will play in the upcoming series, but the updates will come in due time.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 1 Trailer: When will it be out?
The series trailer is yet to be released, and at the moment, we are not sure when the series trailer will be released. Netflix is yet to update us on whether the show’s production started, and if it did not, we could not have a trailer without filming.
The earliest you should expect the series trailer to be released is by 2024. In the meantime, Netflix has other live-action animations that you may want to check out. Jurrasic Park is one of the many shows you may want to check out.
