Beard was detained by Austin police on December 12, 2022, after being accused of using domestic violence against a family member. Police were informed by a woman that he bit and strangled her. The charge carries a potential sentence of two to ten years in jail.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, the woman reportedly told the authorities that she was his fiancée and that they had been together for six years. After breaking his glass during their disagreement, she continued claiming that Beard “just snapped on me and became really violent.”
