Netflix has been home to some of the most fantastic period dramas, including Bridgerton, The Queen’s Gambit, and the newly released The Empress. The Decameron Season 1 Release Date: When will it be telecasted?
There is no set release date for the Decameron series. The series creators are still writing and revising the scripts; therefore, filming is yet to start. Filming might begin before the year ends or early next year. The earliest you should expect the series to be released is by 2024.
The Decameron Season 1 Plot: What is it all about?
The series is loosely inspired by The Decameron, a short story novel about the 14th Century romance. The shot series is witty and passionate and, at times, has a tragic ending for its characters, just like life does not always have positives. The series’ main themes are class disparities, power struggles, and the fight for survival caused by the pandemic.
The series is set in 1348, a timeframe when the pandemic, which killed almost 200 million, struck Florence City. Some nobles during the Black Death pandemic take some of their servants to a retreat, far off the city, to cool down as they wait for the pandemic to subside. The pandemic gets so bad, and soon enough, an escapade that started all wine soaked is reduced to a battle of survival. The series explores how characters and righteousness can be thrown out of the window when dire situations call for it.
The Decameron Season 1 Cast: Who will appear?
The Decameron cast is yet to be announced, and we do not know when Netflix will be giving the casting updates. It might feature some actors we have seen in Period dramas or fresh faces. All we know is that there will be royals, servants, survivors, and those that will be victims of the pandemic.
The series is, however, written by Kathleen Jordan. She is famous for creating the “Teenage Bounty Hunters” series, all part of a deal with Netflix. Jenji Kohan (Social Distance) will execute the show, and Mike Uppendahl will direct the sequel. Kohan commented in August that she was too excited to work with Kathleen. She added that it was an honor creating the witty and funny period drama with Kathleen as she has always considered her significant. Currently, Netflix is yet to release a trailer for the period drama, and we do not know how soon it will be available. The series filming is yet to start, so it will be a long time before the trailer is ready. A perfect release date is 2024.
