Did you know that the Battersea Poltergeist ghost is one of history’s most extended documented ghosts? If you didn’t, then now you know. Coming to Peacock is the scripted and unscripted version of the ghosts show based on the Battersea Poltergeist, one of Blumhouse production.
The series development announcement came out in 2021, although no streaming channels were affiliated with the show. It was only the other day that it was announced that the show would be developing on Peacock, and the showrunners have a task entirely hard to accomplish. The upcoming show is supposed to be based on Blumhouse Ghost Story, and here is everything you should know about the ghost series.
The Battersea Poltergeist Season 1 Release Date:
The ghost show’s release date is yet to be revealed, and it is not likely to be released anytime soon. However, Blumhouse will be in charge of producing the scripted series, while Empress Films will make the unscripted version of the show. We do not know the episodes the show will have or whether they will be released simultaneously or they will be released differently. The earliest you can expect both versions of the ghost show to premiere on Peacock is by 2023.
The Battersea Poltergeist Season 1 Plot:
The Battersea Poltergeist is based on actual events, and it’s one of the occurrences that was investigated for 12 years before it was considered authentic. The story happens in 1956 when a young girl of about 15 years old starts feeling ungodly queasy. Shirley Hitchings, the 15-year-old, slowly gets terrorized by a greater force that she cannot explain what and where it came from.
Explaining being haunted is not easy; hence nobody believes her and only thinks she is making things up. This forces those in authority to investigate whether what she is saying is accurate, and after 12 good years, they can second that it did happen and she was haunted. The upcoming series will tell her story using all the footage and news interviews made before and after discovering that a ghost haunted her at Battersea.
The Battersea Poltergeist Season 1 Cast:
So far, we do not have the official cast who will reprise in the upcoming show. Danny Robins, the writer and the producer of the podcast of the same name, is supposed to write both the scripted and the unscripted version of the show. He will produce the show alongside Michael Setsman, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Gretchen Palek, Emma Cooper, and Jeremy Gold. If Peacock makes the cast announcement, then we will keep you updated.
The Battersea Poltergeist Season 1 Trailer:
The trailer of the ghost series is set to be released by Peacock. The series trailer might take some time before Peacock releases it. Several TV shows and podcasts have been based on the ghost, and one of the famous podcasts is of the same name and hosted by Dafne Keen and Toby Jones.
Peacock also has a long list of ghost-inspired shows you can watch before the Battersea premieres in 2023. Psych Ancient Aliens, Hammer House of Horror, and Dark Shadows are some of the series you can watch out for. You will, however, need a Peacock subscription of $4.99 monthly.
