Why Women Kill was one of the most-watched series on Netflix, and it featured plenty of women telling the stories of their cheating husbands and some even going to the extreme of planning their deaths.
In an unhappy marriage, six women cross the lines and get themselves entangled in affairs, quite the opposite of The former. The series is based on a manga series by Kurosawa R., which has sold millions of copies worldwide, indicating that the show will be as fire as manga.
Fishbowl Wives Season 2 Release Date: When will it going to appear?
Whether season one will be renewed or released is a subject that the Showrunners and the streaming Channel are yet to explore. The first season premiered on 14th February 2022, and if the series gets a huge following, the show may be renewed for the second season and maybe even get more than two seasons. The second season might have more episodes with a longer run time or maybe get fewer episodes than the first one, information that is yet to be ascertained. For all we know, the series has not been renewed yet.

Fishbowl Wives Season 2 Plot: What will happen?
After a fatal accident, Sakura Hiraga is forced to give up on her dream and be a housewife. She is married to a rather nice guy, and together they live in a luxurious penthouse that anybody could envy living in. As far as the outsiders are concerned, her life is perfect, but Sakura is not the bubbly woman she tries to portray behind closed doors.
Physically and mentally abused by her husband, Sakura has to nurse black eyes while still keeping up the happy woman front she has grown so used to. You would think leaving is easy, but since Sakura depends on her husband, leaving may be worse than staying. She compares herself to a goldfish, put in a bowl, you will be stared at and fragile enough to die when out of the bowl. However, her life takes a turn when she meets another man.
Fishbowl Wives Season 2 Trailer: When can we watch it?
Like the release date and the second season, we have yet to get information on when the season two trailer will be released. In the meantime, however, you can watch out for the first season trailer, which is known shown on Netflix.
The trailer begins with a group of ladies narrating their affairs which is soon followed by the question, “when did they cross the line.” The trailer then hints at romantic and steamy actions and a hint of domestic violence in the mix. Grab your popcorns for 14th February.
Fishbowl Wives Season 1 Recap:
Six middle-aged women who are married live in a luxurious apartment tower in Tokyo. Although everything appears perfect on the surface, their marital lives begin to show signs of strain and cracks as the story delves deeper. The focus of the story is Sakura Hiraga, who becomes known as the “fishbowl” wife after visiting Haruko’s shop to adopt a goldfish with the same name. Sakura and Haruko exchange glances from opposite sides of the aquarium, and she eventually takes the fish home.
However, Sakura’s abusive husband Takuya becomes suspicious that she knows his secret and interprets the goldfish as a subtle hint of infidelity. In a fit of anger, he breaks the fishbowl, endangering the goldfish’s life. Hoping to save it, Takuya returns the fish to Haruko’s shop, where he rescues it with a pinch of salt. This encounter prompts Takuya to ask Haruko out for a ferry ride, leading to an intimate moment between them.
Despite this, Sakura ultimately decides to return to her husband. When she asks Takuya if she can continue working as a hairdresser, he dismisses her without hesitation. In an attempt to physically harm her, Takuya is met with resistance from Sakura, who now has a place to call home. She seeks refuge in the Toyoda Fish Shop, where her love story slowly takes root, allowing glimpses into the affairs of other wives. In episode 8 of Fishbowl Wives, Masako threatens to release a video of Takuya abusing Sakura unless he agrees to divorce.
From that point onward, she represents Sakura and obtains a restraining order to prevent further abuse. Takuya’s career begins to crumble, and the company faces turmoil as employees resign. However, Takuya refuses to go down without a fight, knowing that Sakura plays a vital role in maintaining the company’s positive public image. With this in mind, he suggests couple mediation as a means to prevent the divorce from moving forward without both parties’ consent.
Though initially hesitant, Sakura agrees to this while offering her support to Haruto, assuring him that she will stand by him regardless of his career choices. Haruto, torn between working for his father and pursuing his newfound passion for tending to goldfish, pays his father a visit and makes a life-changing decision. He chooses to marry Sakura and vows to do whatever it takes to make their union a reality, finding true purpose in looking after the goldfish, an endeavor that ignites a sense of vitality within him.
Despite feeling suffocated and trapped while working for his father’s company, Haruto takes pride in the happiness he brings to people’s lives through his work at the goldfish shop. As a result, he decides not to return to the company and opts to remain at the shop instead. Meanwhile, Takuya and Sakura attend therapy, with Takuya expressing genuine remorse for his controlling behavior and bursts of anger. Tearfully, he confesses his true love for Sakura and admits that his sole intention for attending mediation was to see her.
However, he has no intentions of prolonging the divorce process with unnecessary fights or dragging the matter to court, recognizing the potential mess it could become. Sakura, although wary, wonders whether Takuya’s apologies are sincere. When she goes to their apartment complex, she discovers that Takuya has moved out and sold the apartment.
Furthermore, his business is failing, leaving Sakura to find an empty salon and encounter Takuya, who bitterly remarks that one reaps what they sow, realizing the consequences of his own downfall. As time passes, two years go by, and we catch up with the various characters.
Fishbowl Wives Season 1 Review:
The show has garnered a mix of opinions from both critics and viewers. Kate Sánchez from But Why Tho? A Geek Community rates the show 8/10 and commends it for examining independence, resilience, and the societal expectations placed on women. Similarly, Nick Schager from The Daily Beast offers a positive review, describing the show as a contemporary fairy tale that explores the joys and challenges of infidelity. However, Joel Keller from Decider criticizes the show for normalizing spousal abuse and suggesting infidelity as a solution rather than legal action.
In an assessment for The Review Geek, Greg Wheeler rates the show 3.5/5 and considers it a flawed yet enjoyable romantic drama. While he appreciates certain episodes, he finds fault with the large cast and shallow characterization.
