Tom Budge has verified the reports that he has been departed from the upcoming TV series Lord of the Rings as Amazon has chosen a different direction with the character. Recently, he stated that the makers have decided to renew the plot of the Amazon series and that his role will no longer be a part of the show. He took an Instagram account to unveil this news:
At the 2020 TCA winter press tour, Tom was declared as a cast of “Lord of the Rings”, where Amazon exposed the formal acting schedule. Budge wrote on his Instagram with dismay that he was quitting Amazon’s on Lord of the Rings’ show. Recently, after watching the first episode filmed last year, Amazon has decided to take to a different direction with the role he was playing. He praises the production team for the support for trying something new, which he considered interesting and beautiful. He appreciates the wonderful cast and crew members for their support during this new experience.
Amazon didn’t open about Tom Budge’s role in this TV show. His co-actors including James Badge Dale and Alice Englert commented on Budge’s post to give support towards his departure news. An Amazon source stated that the studio is responsible to rethink Tom’s role and recast another actor. This decision was agreeable by everyone.
Tom Budge is popular for starring on Australia’s famous Television series Neighbors, Round the Twist, and Shock Jock. Recently, he has been seen in ‘Judy and Punch’ alongside Mia Wasikowska. He received the Australian Academy of Cinema nominations and Television Arts Awards and the Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards for his supporting role in ‘Last Train to Freo.’
Tom Budge has left the show but there are no other reports about recasting. Additionally, Amazon has not given any release date for the show. The program is created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and directed by J. A. Bayona.
