Memorial day was celebrated in the United States of America on the last Monday of May. It is celebrated for remembering and thanking those fallen heroes that died fighting for the country.On this day people visit the grave and honor the heroes by placing American flags on each grave. After that, the US flag is raised to the top of the staff and then lowered to the half staff until noon. Then it is raised to the full staff for the rest of the day. This symbolic as the flag raisers and so is their memory by the living who promise to not let their sacrifice be in vain and continue to fight for liberty and justice for all.
