Korean dramas have become among the best genres among series lovers, and so far, they are getting the love they should. Hellbound, Squid Game (2021), Kingdom are among some of the hit series that has created quite an uproar, not forgetting The Silent Sea, which was released not long ago.
Hellbound first debuted on Christmas eve, 24th December 2021, and since then, it has managed to appear and maintain the top 10 list of best series in approximately 88 countries; pretty impressive! Hellbound’s perfection may lead you to believe the series is based on a book. However, The Silent Sea is based on a short film, “The Sea of Tranquility (2014) by Choi Hyang-Yong, the creator of Silent Sea. The Silent Sea Season 2 Release Date: When will it appear?
Much to fans’ disappointment, Netflix is yet to announce whether the series will be renewed for the second season or cancelled. It is very early to consider the series fate as renewed, but within no time, we will get the overall series performance which most likely will be positive. Shows such as Jupiter’s Legacy and Cowboy Bebop got a huge following but still got cancelled; therefore, the possibility of the show not returning for the second season should not be ruled out completely. If the series gets a second season, we should expect it to premiere sometime in 2022.
The Silent Sea Season 2 Cast: Who will appear on second installment?
The lineup for the season 2 casts is yet to be announced, but season 1 has answers. Not everybody survived the exciting yet dangerous journey to the moon, which means certain individuals will not be back. Bae Doona (Kingdom), Dr. Song Ji an, Kim Sun-young, and Dr. Hong Ga are the only people who survived in the first season, and we expect them to reprise their roles. There is also a slim chance that Han Yoon-Jae may have survived, but these are mere speculations that will be confirmed once the second season is out. Si-Ah Kim will be back to play Luna, and we should also expect new casts in the next season.

Netflix is yet to reveal the potential plot of the second season, but it will most probably pick up from where season one ended. Season one ended with the moon base being destroyed and only three survivors. Despite Luna being the key to the people’s survival in a place with no water, she may also be in intense danger. The water source is a rare commodity that will be fought for by everybody, and some are ready to go to every length to keep it to themselves. The first season-ending might be a potential source for the season two plot, but it may also signify the end of the series leaving the viewers to imagine what could have happened.
