On 19 March 2021, the Promised Neverland Season 2 issued its tenth and final episode. The anime is based loosely on Kaiu Shirai’s manga. Toshiya Ono and Kaiu Shirai have written ten of 11 Promised Neverland Anime episodes and animated them in CloverWorks. On 8 January 2021, the second season debuted. A special episode was published on 12 February following the fifth episode. Then the series ended on 19 February 2021 with the sixth episode. It was initially released on FujiTV and then on Funimation and Hulu.
The Promised Neverland’s second season received some disappointment from fans for its deviation from the original manga. Although the series changed during the first season, it was outrageous to change the second season. The manga came to a close in June 2020. But Kaiu Shirai, the Mangaka, was not happy at the end. He, therefore, insisted on making some anime changes. This series is based on the story of children who had fled the Grace Field House. They go in and fight to survive in the world of devils.
Many anime series have slipped away from the manga and moved forward in their plot. It seldom turns out to be good to change the original story. It’s pretty deadly for most anime. The newest example of what will happen if an Anime does not follow the source document seems to have been the Promised Neverland.
The Promised Neverland season 2 begins quite well. It looks almost like the first season could be just as good. When the story goes on, however, it feels like the anime works on a quick-forward button.
The complete eradication of this arc deceives the supporters because they have some important qualifications that qualify The Promised Neverland. Most of the episodes worthy of information were contained in just a few lines and allegations. Those who have not even read the manga get worse as many things are still unexplained.
Release Date of The Promised Neverland Season 3:
The creators did not follow the manga entirely nor followed their path. Still, there is no official confirmation when The Promised Neverland Season 3 will be released. We can, however, make certain forecasts based on previous seasons’ production schedules. Its season 1 was announced in May 2018 and ended up in January 2019. Season 2 was released in March 2019 after a cover-delay from its original date of October 2020 and debuted in January 2021.
The Promised Neverland could be returned as soon as Spring or Summer 2022 if season 3 follows a similar production plan.
With the massive negative reaction from fans, the season is highly unlikely. Last season’s completion and writing were so poor that Toshiya Ono and Kaiu Shirai did not want to accept the credits for episode 10. For those who had read the manga and those who didn’t, the anime was also bad. Instead of another season, anime needs rebooting. Before the manufacturers start with the series, the second season must be restructured.
Fans have high expectations from this TV series like other manga series such as Attack on Titan, Alice in Borderland.
The hope is that the writers will produce an original story with this long hiatus between seasons 2 and 3 that can re-engineer some of their fans’ broken relations.
