Netflix and Sony Pictures Television are teaming up to bring you “The Corps,” a captivating adaptation of Greg Cope White’s best-selling autobiography, “The Pink Marine.” Starring the talented Miles Heizer and the renowned Vera Farmiga, this series promises to be a thrilling ride Andy Parker, the brilliant mind behind Netflix’s “Tales of the City” and “Imposters,” is creating, writing, and producing “The Corps.”

Parker is also taking the helm as the showrunner, alongside the original author and former US Marine, Greg Hope White, as the producer and contributing to the writing. Peter Hoar, known for his excellent work on “The Last of Us” and “The Umbrella Academy,” is directing the first episode of “The Corps” and serving as an executive producer. The Corps Season 1 Release Date: When Will it Air?

While Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for “The Corps,” the production is expected to wrap in October 2023, after beginning on April 17 in New Orleans. A September wrap and a mid-2024 release was expected for the series but there is news that the production has halted due to the ongoing WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike. Therefore, it is not possible that “The Corps” could be released before the end of the year or in 2024. “The Corps” may consist of 10 episodes, although it is currently unclear whether they will be released simultaneously or every week.

The Corps Season 1 Plot: What will Happen?

The Pink Marine” is a memoir about a teenage boy struggling with self-acceptance and finding a place to belong. When Greg’s best friend invites him to Marine Corps boot camp, he’s unprepared for the challenges he’ll face. Underweight, gay, and never having run a mile, he fears he won’t cut. But he sets off with five suitcases and a determination to survive.

Stripped of everything he knows, he’s forced to confront his deepest fears. Throughout his training, he learns that transformation is possible if you have the will to survive. Will Greg become one of the few proud the Marines.

The Corps Season 1 Cast: Who Will be In?

Cameron Cope, a gay teen who lives in a turbulent home with his self-centered mother and is frequently bullied, is played by Miles Heizer. In the hope of being accepted as a “real man,” he spontaneously enlists in the Marine Corps with his straight best friend. Vera Farmiga plays Barbara Cope, a chameleon-like character who is always on the run from the consequences of her actions but becomes unmoored when her son joins the Marines.

Meanwhile, Max Parker stars as Sgt. Sullivan is a decorated Recon Marine who is trying to prepare Cameron for the same internal conflict he faces. The cast also includes Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, and numerous others.
