Teoscar Hernandez Career:

In February 2011, Teoscar signed with the Houston Astros as an international free agent. Further, he made his professional debut for the Dominican Summer League Astros that season. In 2012, he played with the Class-A Lexington Legends (South Atlantic League) and the Rookie-level Gulf Coast Astros. Teoscar appeared in 59 games and recorded a .243 batting average, 23 runs batted in (RBI), 5 home runs, and 11 stolen bases. During the 2013 season, he played with the Class-A Quad City River Bandits and scored hits .271 with 13 home runs, 24 stolen bases, and 55 RBI. Later, during the offseason, he appeared in 23 games for the Toros del Este (LIDOM).

Teoscar started the 2014 season with the Lancaster JetHawks (Advanced-A California League) and was upgraded to the Corpus Christi Hooks (Double-A Texas League) during the season. In 119 games, he hit .292 with 21 home runs, 33 stolen bases, and 85 RBI.

Further, Teoscar played the 2015 season with Double-A Corpus Christi, in 119 games batting .219 with 17 home runs, 33 steals, and 48 RBI. After the season, Teoscar was selected for the 2015 WBSC Premier12 as a player of the Dominican Republic national baseball team.

His 2016 season began with Corpus Christi, and in late June was upgraded to the Fresno Grizzlies of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. On 12th August 2016, the Astros promoted Teoscar to the major leagues, but he remained with the Astros until the end of the 2016 season in 41 games, hitting .230 with 4 home runs and 11 RBI. The same year, in the minors, he batted .307 with 10 home runs, 53 RBI, and 34 stolen bases in 107 games.

On 21st March 2017, Teoscar was optioned to Triple-A Fresno, and on 25th April 2017, the Astros promoted him to the major leagues replacing him with the injured Jake Marisnick.

In the 2019 season, he struggled through the first 2 months, hitting .189 with 3 home runs. On 16th May, he was optioned to AAA for 2 weeks and returned to the MLB to play center field much improved. Teoscar finished the season with 26 home runs in 125 games.

With the 2020 Blue Jays, Teoscar, in 50 games, batted .289 with 16 home runs and 34 RBIs. He won the AL Silver Slugger Award in the American League.

In 2021, he earned his first All-Star nod. He was also selected to start the 2021 All-Star Game for the American League. Teoscar finished the 2021 season batting .296 with 32 home runs and 116 RBIs. Later, for the second year, he won the AL Silver Slugger for right field.

On 22nd March 2022, Teoscar signed a $10.65 million contract with the Blue Jays.
