Slumberland is an upcoming kid’s series scheduled for a November release on Netflix. The series is based on a 1905 film and will be reimagined into live-action. The series announcement was in 2021, and two years later, finally, the series is coming to our screens. This is, however, not the first time the 1905 comic strip is getting an adaptation as the first adaptation was in 1989, Little Nemo; Adventures in Slumberland.
Written by Michael Handelman and David Guion, the upcoming series will explore the life of Nema, a little girl who goes on an adventure to a mystical land that was read to her in one of her bedtime stories. Here is everything we know about the upcoming series.
Slumberland Season 1 Release Date:
Fortunately, we will immediately see Nema’s adventures in Slumberland. The Slumberland series will be debuting on November 18th on Netflix; you want to take advantage of it. Since it is a fantasy film, it will be available for audiences of all ages and will be streaming exclusively on Netflix.
Slumberland Season 1 Plot:
Nemo, previously a boy in the 1989 adaptation, has been reimagined into a beautiful young girl named Nema. In the Greek origin, Nema is translated to a loner who often makes friends while they are out on adventures. The series revolves around Nema and explores how once the girl lived with her father, who loved reading her bedtime stories before she slept.
One night, however, the dad reads her a story about the Mystical Slumberland, where every wish comes true. After her father’s death, Nema finds a map that leads to slumber land, and she finds herself being transported to Slumberland every time she falls asleep. While asleep and on an adventure, Nema meets one of the wildest characters with whom she will strike a friendship.
Slumberland Season 1 Cast:
The Slumberland cast features some of the studded actors you have seen once, twice, or severally in your famous TV series. Marlow Barkley stars as Nema, the series protagonist and the girl who goes on an adventure searching for her dada. She is known for featuring in Single Parents, Amphibian, and Spirited.
Jason Momoa will be featured in the series, and the actor is famous for featuring in the Game of Thrones series as Dothraki Leader. Luxton Handspiker will play Matt and Kyle Chandler (Godzilla vs. Kong) as Nema’s dad. Other casts include Chris O’Dowd as India de Beaufort, Tonya Cornelisse as Agent Red, Jamillah Rose as Agent Orange, Weruche Opia (High Desert) as Agent Green, and Leslie Adlam as Agent Brown.

Fortunately, Netflix has already released a trailer for the upcoming series, which is available on YouTube. The first teaser was revealed on August 24th, and the second came on October 6th. The trailer starts with the series protagonist expressing how school is more of a prison and slowly expresses to her wishing she still had access to her dad.
