Selena: The Series Part 2 is finally returning. On Monday, Netflix announced that its second part, May 4, will be debuted weeks before its planned release on May 14 of its series about Selena Quintanilla’s life and work before her 1995 death.
The Streaming Department reported news with a teaser featuring the song “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” by Christian Serratos’ Selena in a sparkling purple jumpsuit that the songwriter wore during her Houston Astrodome performance in 1995. According to Netflix, the second part of the series will feature “the years of hard work and the sacrifice the Quintanilla family is experiencing together as the most successful Latin female artist ever.”
“The journey through the world of Tejano music continues now to the brim of stardom,” reads the logline. Selena is struggling to achieve a balance of family, love, and a growing career and has learned how to manage her new success.”
She taught fans what they could expect from the second and last part of the series when ET spoke to Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla last month, which she said: “is covering the entire spectrum.” “It’s the place where Selena and Chris elope marry,” she said. She’s going to get married. “This is part of our lives, and this is part of our family’s history.”
“It’s just a bit of it all. This makes you feel happy and, you know, some sad moments are happening, and then I don’t want to visit again personally, “She added. “It gives rise to some very strange emotions. So, to be honest with you is only a little bit of everything.”
Officially scheduled to return on Tuesday, May 4, on a streamer, Christian Serratos, who plays the leading role, performs “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom ” in a teaser, which is also used to announce her return. Jesse Posey, as a boyfriend, Chris Perez, Noemí González as Suzette’s sister, Gabriel Chavarria as A.B.’s brother, and Hunter Reese Peña as Ricky’s band member are returning alongside Serratos.
Netflix also unveiled the key art with one of Serratos’ most iconic looks, together with the stage performance Teaser. Part 1 of the Selena series debuted on December 4 last year and had nine enchanting episodes. The story began with Selena’s younger years in CCTT and began to show her success in Tejano as one of the greatest Latin artists of all time.
It showed her future success. As anyone familiar with the real-life history of the singer knows, Part 2 takes the events that led her to the premature death of fan club organizer Yolanda Saldivar (Natasha Perez), who appeared briefly in Part I, more seriously.

The title on a new teaser reads, “You heard her sing. “You’re going to hear her voice now.” Star Christian Serratos in Selena’s iconic lilac jumpsuit is featured in the teaser. This series, made together with and contributed by the family of Selena, tells about the early life of the singer and her rise to super-star redness.
