Why was Resident Evil Season 2 Canceled?

The live-action “Resident Evil” series on Netflix was released more than one month ago, but the streaming provider has decided against a second season.

Official production of the series was to commence in April 2020 and then conclude in October, but the pandemic had other plans, and the production had to be delayed. The next plan was to start filming on February 14th, 2021, but this also didn’t work out, and filming had to be pushed to September. Now that the series is in its post-production stages, it wouldn’t be too long before we see the series premiere, and if all goes as expected, we expect the eight episodes series to be out by 2022.

Luckily, on July 14, 2022, Resident Evil will be made available only through Netflix.

Resident Evil Season 1 Plot: What will Happen?

According to the information posted in 2019, the plot of the series will revolve around the Umbrella Corporation, their dark ways, and the new world formed due to the T-Virus pandemic. The story takes place in two periods; the first has Jade and Billie Wesker, the 14-year-old siblings who have just moved to the raccoon.

It does not take them long to figure out that the father hides dark secrets that may cause more harm than good. Ten years later, the series takes place in a world where billions of animals and humans are affected by the T virus, and there are only 15 million survivors. Jade is now thirty years old and prepared to break her back for the remedy.

The series features very notable casts, and top of them is Lance Riddick, renowned for starring Cedric Daniels in The Wire, who will be playing the most reputable role as Albert Wesker. Other casts include: Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Siena Agudong, Paola Nunez (Bad Boys), Anni Heinrich as Janet, Mpho Osei as Yen, Rozelle Januk as Billie’s Teacher, Richard Wright as Maskey, and Ayushi Chabra as Dr Amrita.
