Dexter Returns On Showtime

Showtime announced that serial killer drama Dexter is being revived with ten latest episodes as a limited series.

From 2006 to 2013, eight seasons of this series have been broadcasted on Showtime. Michael C. Hall, who had played the lead role in the original series, is back with showrunner Clyde Phillips.

The co-president of entertainment, Gary Levine at Showtime, stated about Michael’s character, “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world!”

Again, Michael C. Hall would be seen as a Miami forensic blood splatter analyst like the earlier seasons, splitting his time between working as a cop to solve crimes in the daytime and committed them at night as a cautious murderer. Dexter was a serial killer who especially assassinated other serial killers while working as a forensic specialist for the Miami Police Department.

Dexter was highly appreciated by the audience when it aired. This series won two Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Peabody Award for Best drama as of 2013. Michael was nominated multiple times for Best Actor, and at last, he also won Golden Globe Award in 2010.

The upcoming plot has not yet been disclosed, and it is not even known whether the other cast members of the show will appear.

Production of the Dexter series is estimated to begin in early 2021, probably to be aired in the autumn.
