The series released in the 80s, Conan Barbarian, is finally getting a live-action remake on Netflix. It follows the story of Conan, the barbarian whose family gets killed, is enslaved, and eventually travels to find his father’s sword. Robert Howard created the account, buts since then, the short series has been featured in several comics and films and even received remakes and sequels.
The 1984 movie of the same name featured the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger (True Lies), which got a prequel in 1994. In 2011, there was also an attempt to remake the series, but the reboot was unsuccessful. Here is everything we know about Netflix’s live-action version of Conan.
Conan the Barbarian Season 1 Release Date:
At the moment, we do not know when the Conan series will be released. The show announcement was in 2020 when Netflix revealed that they would adapt the play for a live-action. Almost two years later, they have yet to update us on whether they finally found the perfect showrunner, the series scriptwriter, and the filming location. Filming the Conan series is yet to start, and this could either mean that the Conan show writing is still in progress or it will just misfire like some Netflix shows.
Conan the Barbarian Season 1 Plot:
Conan the Barbarian series explores the life of Conan, an orphaned boy who is enslaved after doom falls in his village. Thulas Doom, the vicious necromancer, destroys their village, and he forces Conan to push a hell famously known as The Wheel of Pain for several years. After several years, Conan sets on a journey to understand what happened to his family and who murdered their dad. He is on a mission to find his father’s sword that got stolen in the ordeal. In his quest for answers, he faces Supernatural evil, but this time round, he comes prepared. With Valeria, a beautiful warrior, by his side, he is set to conquer all the world’s evil.
Conan the Barbarian Season 1 Cast:
Netflix is yet to update who will be casting in the series’ first season. At the time of the show’s announcement, the series executive producers were still looking for a showrunner and a new writer who could write the show. They were not even sure of the actor who could fit the Conan character, but maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back to play a role he played thirty years ago. They could use Jason Mamoa as the series protagonist since he fits the Conan role perfectly. He initially played in the 2011 reboot of the series, and Netflix creators might decide to tag him along in this one. All these updates will be revealed in due time.

A trailer for the Conan series is yet to be released by Netflix, and at the moment, we do not know how long the series trailer will take. After the series announcement in 2020. Netflix is yet to give any updates regarding the series’ development which leaves us with the question of whether the series is still in production or just another failed attempt.
