Women’s body and image is usually a sensitive topic and a case used to shame most women. Society has idolized certain types of bodies considered acceptable, and all the others should be treated with absolute scorn. Gone is the era when women were afraid to talk about their bodies as several Tv shows have been released, and they talk about all body types without scorn or the set stereotypes.
One such series is the upcoming show on Peacock dubbed Cheeky. The show is based on Ariella Elovic’s book Cheeky; A Head to Toe Memoir. The show’s main aim is to get honest about women’s bodies and talk about them without shaming or judging anybody for their body type. Here’s everything you need to know about the women’s body positivity show.
Cheeky Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
Peacock is yet to give out the exact dates when all the body positivity show lovers can stream the show. However, we will receive the date after the filming or when the series producers are done with the post-production.
So far, we do not know how many episodes the body positivity show will have, but we are counting on the wish that it will be as exciting as how it’s described. Peacock has a long list of ordered shows, and if we are tactful, the earliest you should expect this series on your screen is by 2023 or 2024, depending on the production team’s preparedness.
Cheeky Season 1 Plot: What will happen?
As described by Peacock, Cheeky is one refreshing and brutally honest TV show that has every piece of opinions of the body that has been uttered by everybody, from your friend’s comedians, celebrity bus drivers, or random people like your grandma’s friends. The graphic memoir celebrates Elovic’s body, embracing all its beauty and the imperfections that come with it. The episodes will have different themes; Sex, body hair that some women loathe too much, Coming of Age, and Boobs. Each episode will be painted and animated as colorfully as in Elovic’s book.
Cheeky Season 1 Cast: Who will appear?
Peacock is yet to announce the cast that will feature in Elovic’s book series, but we hope the announcement will come early. Ariella Elovic will write the series together with Aidy Bryant and Sudi Greene. Elovic, the creator of the series, documents the @thecheekyblog, a blog page that combats women’s shame and toxic feelings about their bodies. She will also produce the series alongside the two writers, Bryant and Greene. Bryant has been nominated for the Emmy four times, and Greene has five Emmy awards for writing and producing the “Shrill” series.
Cheeky Season 1 Trailer: When can we watch?
The series trailer of the Cheeky series is yet to be released, and evidence of it being released shortly is nonexistent. As we await the trailer, you can check out the “Shrill” series written by Both Green and Bryant. The shrill series is premiering on Hulu, and with a 7.3/10 rating on IMDB, it is worth your time and money for a Hulu subscription. Another sequel about women bodes is the Issa Rae film Insecure, premiering on Hulu. Other TV shows with the same plot as the insecure series are; PEN15, Broad City, the Other Two, and Hacks.
