The German dark crime series has received the go-ahead for a fourth installment by Sky. Generating increasing interest from fans, the network ordered and confirmed that season four would produce. It is one of Germany’s most exciting shows, based on the novel series by Volker Kutscher. Set in the 1920s and against the first world war’s backdrop and created by Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries, and Hendrik Handloegten. The show’s first season received a 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has gotten various awards among Best Television Show, Best Score, Best Supporting Actress, Best Series, Best German Actor, and many more.
Babylon Berlin Season 4 Release Date: When will it air?
The first and second season of the TV show was released in October 2017. The third season was released in January 2020. Production for Season four was announced in June 2020, and it was expected that the fourth season would be released in December 2020. However, production was stopped due to the pandemic. It is hoped that production will start earnestly and fans can watch their beloved show.
Fans are eager to know that their favorite Babylon Berlin has been revived for Season 4. Although the release date is not yet announced, the team is reportedly working on the script. The series is officially projected for 2021.
Initially, Season 4’s filming reportedly started in early 2021. As per a May 2021 report, the makers of the show confirmed that production is underway for the upcoming season, and they are working on a fast track. But there is no official confirmation on it.
The air date for Season 4 of Babylon Berlin is yet to be declared, but still, we can expect its release date. So, if making proceeds the same way as Season 3, it is expected to release in the summer of 2022.
Babylon Berlin Season 4 Plot: What will happen next?
The show is set in 1929, the aftermath of the first world war. In Germany during the Weimar Republic, showing the aspirations of Gereon Rath, an inspector was given an assignment in Cologne to investigate and destroy criminal gangs. Also, Charlotte, a police clerk who aspires to become a police inspector. In season three, we see the introduction of a new police commissioner to Berlin, the nucleus of political and social development. Commissioner Gereon discovers so many secrets during his investigation; he, however, loses himself in the process. The upcoming season will most likely follow the continuing story of Gereon Rath. The novel series that may be covered include Goldstein and The Fatherland Files. We may also more in the relationship between Gereon and Charlotte.

- Liv Lisa Fries as Charlotte Ritter, a police clerk, and part time prostitute.
- Leoine Benesch as Greta Overbeck, a childhood friend to Charlotte.
- Christian Friedel as Reinhold Graf, a photographer to the Berlin police, and friend to Gereon Rath.
- Other cast members are Karl Markovics (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Benno Fürmann (Survivor), Hannah Herzsprung (Who am I?), and Meret Becker (Wetlands).
