Black Bird, the Apple TV miniseries, did exceptionally well with a whooping rating of 8.1/10 on IMDB. The series creator Dennis Lehane is returning to create yet another thriller. He will reteam with Egerton Taron, Kary Antholis, Richard Plepler, Bradley Thomas, and Dan Friedkin to create Firebug, an Apple original series.
The series is inspired by the actual events of the Firebug podcast and will follow a detective in pursuit of two arsonists. The previous series, Black Bird, has been described as gripping and well-acted, and we are optimistic the upcoming series will be better and more compared to the previous one. Here is everything we know about the Firebug series.
Firebug Season 1 Release Date: When will it premiere?
The upcoming series has no official release date, and it will not be coming out anytime soon. The show filming is yet to start and may commence sometime in the year. The series is currently in its preproduction stage, and the earliest you can expect filming and post-production to start and end, respectively, is either late this year or early next year. The earliest you should expect to binge on the upcoming series is 2024.
Firebug Season 1 Plot: What will happen?
Firebug is a series that will follow the life of a troubled detective and an arson investigator willing to go to all lengths to put behind bars the serial killers creating turmoil in society. The series is fictional but inspired by real-life incidents from the Firebug Podcast. The podcast was hosted by Antholis, the Oscar-winning personality, and Marc Smerling, the Emmy award winner who currently serves as the executive producer for Truth Podcasting. The podcast was about serial arsonists who terrorized the Southern California region for almost ten years. They burnt several businesses to ashes in broad daylight, and four people were killed in the ordeal.
Firebug Season 1 Cast: Who will appear?
Dennis Lehane will be developing the upcoming series, and he will also double as the series writer and executive producer. Taron Egerton (In With The Devil) is set to star as the investigator and protagonist in the Firebug series. He will be working as the detective charged with hunting and tracing some of the serial killers with unforgivable offenses. He will also serve as the series executive producer alongside Lahane.
Richard Plepler, who served as the CEO of HBO for 28 years, will serve as the series executive producer alongside Bradley Thomas, and Dan Friedkin. Egerton cannot be the only cast in the upcoming series. We expect Apple TV to announce other casting updates as the series progresses.
Firebug Season 1 Trailer: When can we expect it?
A trailer for the upcoming series is yet to be released, and unfortunately, we do not know how soon the series trailer will be available. So far, there are no updates on whether the shows filming is starting or underway, and since a trailer cannot exist without filming having ever started, we will be waiting for a long time.
The trailer may be available in late 2023 or early 2024. As we wait for the series trailer to be released, you can start by watching Black Bird, a collaboration between Egerton and Lehane. The series is available on Apple Tv+, but you will need a subscription to binge on the masterpiece.
