Peacock is continuing to expand its content, and occasionally we get announcements of series-given orders. A series of the same name has inspired their recent announcement of the upcoming Reality Bites. It will be a reboot of the same series that premiered decades ago and was an absolute hit.
Reality Bites was written and created by Hellen Childress. It also had an amazing cast, and we hope the upcoming series will follow in the footsteps of the original adaptation. The series portrayed the 90s culture; social, cultural and political changes made adulating more difficult. The following is everything we know about the upcoming Peacock series.
Reality Bites TV Series Release Date:
So far, we do not know when the series will premiere as the show’s official streaming channel is yet to give us an update. The show was ordered in May, and Helen Childress was put in charge of penning the plot for the upcoming season. Childress will also produce the show alongside Jenna Bans, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Casey Kyber and Danny DeVito. It will not be the first time the creators are reuniting with the producers since the remake of the movie has been attempted more than once. The series production will start once the writing credits are over and the casting announcement has been made. The earliest we can expect the series to debut is in 2023.
Reality Bites TV Series Plot:
Since the series is based on the earlier series of the same name, it will probably follow the same plotline but redevelop it a bit. The show explores the lives of four college friends who live together in Texas and find it hard transitioning from college into adulthood. The group of friends includes; a coffee house guitarist, a filmmaker, and a valedictorian.
The coffee house guitarist and a filmmaker are attracted to one another, but nobody is brave enough to express their feelings to the other. The coffee house guitarist has lost many jobs due to silly mistakes, even stealing candy from one of his bosses. The Valedictorian has to accept a job as a production assistant, and in the process, she meets the love of her life mysteriously.
Reality Bites TV Series Cast:
So far, the casting announcement is yet to be made by the series creator, and we expect the announcement to come in soon. The original series had an impeccable cast which included Winona Ryder, Stiller and Ethan Hawke, and since time has passed, we may not see them casting or reprising their roles in the new series. Winona Ryder played Lelaina Pierce, and chances of her playing the same role over ten years past are not looking likely. We will update you once the cast announcement has been made by either the series creator or the distributing channel.

The Reality Bites trailer is yet to be released, and the announcement might take time, considering we are yet to receive the series round-up for all its cast. As we await the series trailer and the first season to premiere, you can watch the original version of the series released in 1994.
The original version is 99 minutes long and was distributed by Universal Pictures, but you can get the series on other on-demand streaming channels.
