Canceled or Ended Hulu Shows in 2023

Nowadays, cancellations are all the rage. As a result, many popular shows on Hulu have been canceled in 2023 alone. Shows ending on their terms, such as Dollface, Reboot, Shrill, and Kindred, do not count. Here’s a rundown of canceled shows and the heartbroken reactions of their audiences. 1. Dollface 

Dollface is a comedy series on Hulu that premiered on November 15, 2019, and was created by Jordan Weiss. The protagonist uses her imagination to re-enter the realm of women and rekindle the female friendships she left behind after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend. Though getting a good response, this series is only extending for a short time.

2. Reboot

American comedy series Reboot was the second one to end in 2023. Steven Levitan created it. It debuted on Hulu on September 20, 2022. When a young writer successfully pitches a reboot of their show, the dysfunctional cast of the early 2000s hit sitcom Step Right Up is forced to confront their unresolved issues and adapt to a drastically different media and entertainment landscape. Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville play the lead in the show.

3. Shrill

Coming next, In its third and final season, Aidy Bryant’s hit Hulu comedy Shrill is ending, and if you’ve been a fan from the start, you might be wondering whether or not the show got a chance to conclude its story properly. It sounds like a chain of events dictated the choice, but it was made in enough time for the creative team to come up with their own conclusion. The restrictions on filming because of the COVID-19 pandemic may have influenced the decision.

4. Kindred

A popular show in the United States is a television adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s novel of the same name, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Kindred. Dana recently relocated to Los Angeles to be closer to her only remaining family member, Aunt Denise, when she was transported to the Antebellum South in the nineteenth century. But this show is now coming to an end in 2023.

5. Fear the Walking Dead

AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama series co-created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. It’s an offshoot of Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard’s original The Walking Dead comic book series. Additionally, this is the second installment of The Walking Dead TV series. The first three seasons are a prologue that follows a multiracial family dealing with the outbreak that eventually leads to the show’s title. Though getting a good response, this series is only extending for a short time.

6. The Handmaid’s Tale: Season 6 

Due to the pandemic, there was a two-year pause between seasons three and four of The Handmaid’s Tale, which is longer than the usual one year between installments. With production appearing to have resumed, Season 6 could premiere as soon as the end of 2023, following the conclusion of Season 5. However, the intense focus on quality control for the final season and the upcoming production of a sequel to The Testaments could delay the premiere until early 2024.

7. The Hardy Boys: Season 3

The upcoming third season of The Hardy Boys will be the last in 2023. Production on the third season of the Hulu series, adapted from the children’s mystery novel of the same name, has begun in Toronto and other locations in Ontario. With the second season ending on a cliffhanger, the third season will continue the story of the boys and their friends as they uncover other secrets and conspiracies. Meanwhile, they will keep working to decipher their great-map grandfathers and locate a priceless artifact of great power before it falls into the wrong hands.
