Ellen showed up to receive the best daytime talk show award. After throwing a couple of jokes, DeGeneres stated that she is accepting the award on behalf of the whole crew. DeGeneres thanked her fantastic team, who showed up every day and delivered 100 percent all the time. She added that it all became possible because of the crew and the fans.
Armie Hammer introduced Jennifer Lopez, who gave a very inspiring speech. Jennifer stated that this year had been a wake-up call for her and a great leveler also. She added that this year showed us what really mattered and what didn’t. Jennifer mentioned some very touching points such as this year taught us the value of human touch, the importance of that connection, working together, and being kind to one another.
Jennifer shared her struggle; she told the viewers that her ambitions and dreams made people nervous, and the more they said to her that she couldn’t get there, the more she knew she had to. Jennifer Lopez ended her speech by saying that the true meaning of success is not in numbers at the box office, it is inspiring everyone, and now she hopes that she could inspire others.

Tyler Perry won the people’s Champion of 2020 Award. Tyler shared a little story with the viewers and then added that if you can just keep digging, you definitely will reach your goal; he said that one should never quit as you can be just inches away from the prize.
Sofia Vergara pocketed the best comedy TV star, and she encouraged people to maintain social distancing and continue wearing masks. Renee Zellweger, Nicole Kidman, and a few others sent congratulatory video messages.
The award show also paid tribute to real-life heroes around the country, spotlighting them with a short clip.
