Winter is coming, and so is January, as Netflix announced its January additions. This year has enough to offer fans action, anime, and video games. Starting in 2023, Netflix has some big original shows in store, including one that is quite hefty. Season 2 of Vikings: Valhalla will launch on January 13, bringing some much-needed Norse mayhem back to television. Ginny & Georgia season 2 and That ’90s Show are other noteworthy releases this year (Jan. 19). The fascinating choice, however, could be Netflix’s first original release of the year. Kaleidoscope, a Netflix original, will air on January 1 and tell a heist plot in a different order for each viewer.

Hence, here is our pick for the top movies and TV shows airing in January 2023. All these shows are included in your Netflix Originals subscription at no extra charge.

10. Kaleidoscope

Director:Eric Garcia
Cast:Rosaline Elbay, Tati Gabrielle
Genre:Heist, Action
Rotten Tomatoes Ratings
Released Date:1 January

Kaleidoscope, the new series by Eric Garcia, consists of eight episodes set over 25 years as a band of thieves plots their grand heist. Netflix, though, insists that the series may be enjoyed in virtually any order. It’s strange. While not quite as interactive as Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Kaleidoscope is one of Netflix’s recent attempts to draw you into a series’ interactive plot.

9. How I Became a Gangster – Netflix Film

Director:Maciej Kawulski
Cast:Marcin Kowalczyk , Tomasz Wlosok
Genre:Drama, Thriller
Rotten Tomatoes Ratings
Released Date:4 January

Throughout the film, an ambitious gangster from Warsaw rises through the ranks of the city’s criminal underworld and attempts to make it big. Similarly to the British film industry during the Uncool Britannia era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Polish film industry enjoys cranking out gangster flicks. This is a perfect illustration. It’s tedious and full of itself, claiming gravely to be inspired by a real case (with modified names).
