The Last Of Us

The Last of Us is one of the greatest games to be ever made, and now that the series is getting live-action, it is only right to look forward to whether the creators will do the video game justice. Despite its grime characters and rather tumultuous plot, the game is one of the most loved enterprises of all time due to its beautiful setting. The series’ first live-action plan was announced in 2014, but this has yet to come to pass. Now that the series is on the brink of release, a sigh of relief and contentment is just an understatement. With the series teaser and trailer already released, here is everything we know about the upcoming show.

The Last of Us Season 2 Release Date:

The long wait has finally paid off as the series’ second season announced in 2023 is finally getting its release in the year 2025 on HBO. The upcoming show is expected to have nine episodes, each telling the adventures of Joel, his crime partner, and the deadly fungus. Since the series will be exclusively available on HBO, you should get a subscription to watch the horror drama and all the other lauded shows like Game of Thrones.

The Last of Us Season 1 Plot:

The upcoming show is post-apocalyptic action that explores life twenty years after the Species of Cordyceps and fungus have invaded humanity. Those who inhale the toxic fungus turn into a zombie who hunts the living for their flesh and blood. The first game in the series adaptation has Joel as the first victim. Joel is a crime lord and has Tess, his partner, who is charged with smuggling Ellie out of a quarantine zone together. What starts as brutal soon enough leads to a journey of survival of the fittest.

The Last of Us Season 2 Cast:

Bella Ramsey, popular for featuring in the Game of Thrones series, stars as Elise, the 14-year-old girl whose life under the martial or the quarantine zones are things he has never had to experience. Joel and Tess have difficulty smuggling her to the faction alongside other children. Ashley Johnson (Y: The Last Man) previously voiced her role in the video game; hence the teenager has big shoes to fill.

Pedro Pascal also stars as Joel, a highwayman, a former father, brother, and a badass mover charged with moving people to the quarantine zone. Anna Torv stars as Tess, Joel’s partner in crime who may end up being more than just a crime partner. Other characters include Gabriel Luna (Invisible City), Nico Parker, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, and Rutina Wesley (Queen Sugar), among many others.

The Last of Us Season 2 Trailer:

The trailer of The Last of Us has not been released, and despite it being a quick view of what is to come, it still plays a big role in giving us a hint of what is to come. The trailer starts with a group of friends walking as they dialogue.

The trailer then progresses to the heartbreak, houses being pulled down, people hiding from the forces, and lastly, horses gliding on what seems like a snowy surface, questions of where faith lies, and the rebirths of strange creatures are just a depiction that the upcoming series will stay faithful to its adaptation.
