Will There be a Riverdale Season 8?

The announcement from The CW states that Riverdale season 7 will be the final season of the series. There will not be a Riverdale season 8 to continue the gang’s adventures in the 1950s. The writing team knew in advance that season 7 would be the last, so they were able to create a satisfying final season and a series finale that wraps up the stories of each character. While there is no possibility of a season 8 now, there is always a chance of a reboot or continuation in the distant future.

This isn’t entirely unexpected, as KJ Apa disclosed during season 4 that the series main four leads have signed on for “the next three years,” implying that their contract terms will wrap up with season 7.
