Godfather of Harlem is a crime story that tells the life of the famous crime leader Bumpy Johnson. After ten years, a lot has changed, and the city is not how he left it. Therefore, he has to make changes to reclaim the area he was once in control of. Bumpy has to make well-calculated steps to reclaim his possession from the Italian mob, who are proving resilient to do whatever possible to make sure Bumpy does not get his hands on the land. The series is a prelude to American Gangster, and it has received numerous praises for how it invokes emotionally charged performance due to its crisp scripts. This is no surprise as the series writer Chris Brancato has written some of the most successful crime series, such as Law and Order. The first season debuted on September 29th, 2019, and almost two years later, the second season was released on 18th April 2021. The second season of the series got renewed on January 13th, 2022, and so far, there is no set date for when the series third season will premiere. The second season was released in installments, and we may expect the same for the third season. If filming gets done within time, we may expect the third season of the crime series to premiere sometime in 2022 or by 2023.

Bumpy attempted to gain control of the French connection in the second season. He lost one of his men in the ninth episode, but he also allied to maintain his status. Just after Omar proposes to Elise, he is shocked to hear that all this while she has feelings for Malcolm, and therefore, he has to back out of the offer. With the Harlem riot ravaging the whole city, it is obvious that it will affect the huge order. In the third season, Bumpy will be reminded that all his wealth is from manipulating people, and the season may also make him understand that he is doing more harm than good and has to start on his road to redemption. The third season could also possibly delve into Malcolm’s personality.
