Fan favorite documentary series by Netflix, Cheer, is wildly expected to return for a second season. However, Netflix, the producers, and the actors are keeping a tight lip on the possibility of the second season for the TV show.
The first season of the TV show premiered in January 2020 to the acclaim of both viewers and critics. Metacritic published an 82% rating from seven critics, while Rotten Tomatoes gave a rating of 96% from a total of 23 reviewers. The show has received nominations and won awards in different categories, including The Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography, Outstanding Picture Editing, and many more.
Created by Greg Whiteley, the series follows an American Cheerleading Squad, the Navarro College Bulldog Cheer Team from Texas. The show espouses the rigors and training team member faces in their pursuit for perfection and winning the cheerleading championship.
Cheer Season Two Release Date: When will it air?
The first season of the show focused on the team’s preparation towards the cheerleading competition in Daytona for the year 2019. Filming the second season for the 2020 competition will be too late. Therefore the next season will most likely follow the team leading up to the 2021 competition and making the second season of the TV show release in late 2021. Before the release, however, fans are anxiously waiting and hoping for the news of a renewal for the TV show.
Cheer Season Two Plot: What will you get to see in the movie?
As earlier mentioned, the series is a netflix documentary series. The first season of the show saw the Navarro College Bulldog Cheer Team in their daily lives and activities. The coach leads a team comprising of 40 members to victory at Daytona during the National Cheerleading Championship.
The second season may continue to focus on the team and their activities, or another storyline maybe for the show’s focus to shift to another college’s team (as was experienced in Last Chance U), most likely a Navarro’s competitor.
Cheer Season Two Cast: Who will be in?
The reality docuseries follows real-life individuals, among whom are: One Day At A Time Star Cast, Monica Aldama, the coach of the cheerleading team. Members of the team are Gabi Butler, Jerry Harris, La’Darius Marshall, Morgan Simianer, and many others.
At the end of the first season, we saw the team’s tumbler getting kicked off the team for some reasons known to the coach. However, we can confirm that she will be present in the coming season when the show returns.
