Antlers: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer, And Other Details That You Must Know!

Searchlight Pictures is poised to release its long-awaited horror fantasy movie titled Antlers. Initially scheduled for April 17, 2020, the Scott Cooper directed movie was later rescheduled because of the global health outlook. The movie to be produced by Guillermo del Toro, is written by Henry Chaisson, Nick Antosca, and Scott Cooper. It is based on the short novel by Nick Antosca named The Quiet Boy. 

The movie is a must-watch for fans; looking at the crew and cast, Guillermo is a known name in the horror movie industry; coupled with Cooper’s directing, horror movie fans are sure going to have a thrilling experience watching the movie.

In the movie “Antlers,” the supernatural character is based on the Wendigo, a spirit of Algonquian folklore. It is said that humans transform into wendigos because of their greed. These creatures are considered dangerous because of their thirst for blood and penchant to bring about evil. The Wendigo is sometimes classified as god’s, so Guillermo del Toro said ‘they had to be designed intricately, to avoid creating a monster.’

Antlers Release Date: When Will it Premiere?

As earlier stated, the movie’s release date was shifted from the April 17, 2020 date initially set because of the coronavirus pandemic. The global pandemic has resulted in numerous movies and TV shows being rescheduled. 

A new release date for the movie is set for February 19, 2021, barring any unforeseen delays or incidents.

Antlers Plot: What will Happen?

The movie is based on Nick Antosca’s novel, The Quiet Boy. The story focuses on a teacher that is based in a small town in Oregon. The school teacher notices and studies an odd boy in class, Lucas, who is quiet and appears to have no father or mother. The boys will only connection, however, seems to be with a creature whose origins is unclear. At the other end of town, the town’s sheriff, Paul, who deals with unexplained deaths in the town, decides to investigate and found that these deaths are being linked to Lucas’s new friend.

Antlers Cast: Who will appear in the show?

Cast members of the movie include:

Jeremy Thomas plays Lucas Weaver, the young, odd schoolboy with the creature in his house. Keri Russell, who plays the school teacher in a sleepy Oregon town, named Julia Meadows. Katelyn Peterson plays young Julia Meadows. Jesse Plemons plays Paul Meadows, the town’s local sheriff, and also Julia’s brother.
