1. Brahmagiri Peak
It is a mountain range in the Western Ghats of South India. Situated on the border between the Kodagu district in Karnataka state in the north and Wayanad district of Kerala state in the south. Brahmagiri Peak is a breathtaking spot full of forested woods and mist-topped hills. It also has a wildlife which includes Spotted Deer, Lion-tailed Macaque, Jungle Cat, Nilgiri Langur, Giant Flying Squirrel among others.
2. Mallalli Falls
Mallalli Falls is one of the popular tourist place in Coorg. It is situated in the northern region of Kodagu District, Karnataka. Mallalli falls lie 26 km away from the town of Somwarpet. They lie at the foot of Pushpagiri Hill Ranges, where the Kumaradhara river takes a deep plunge of over 200 feet. Monsoon season is the best time to visit the fall, when the water rises high and flows with full speed. The Kumaradhara River is the main watercourse for this waterfall.
3. Talacauvery (Talakaveri) Wildlife Sanctuary
Talacauvery wildlife sanctuary, consists of tropical evergreen forests of the Western Ghats, spreads over an area of about 105.01 km. The sanctuary is named after Talakaveri, the origin of Cauvery river which lies in eastern ghats, Snakes that are found here includes the king cobra, rat snake, cobra and python. Dipterocarpus indicus, Hopea parviflora, Dysoxylum malabaricum, Pallaquim ellipticum, Mesua ferrea and Artocarpus lakoocha are some of the flora found in this sanctuary. Birds like Great pied Hornbill, Malabar Trogon, fairy bluebird, broadbilled roller and black eagle are also found here.
4. Nagarhole National Park
Nagarhole National Park, located in the Kondagu District in Karnataka and Nagarhole National Park is also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park. It is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for selection as a World Heritage Site. This park has a rich forest cover, small streams, hills, valleys and waterfalls. The park has a healthy predator-prey ratio, with many tigers, Indian bison and elephants.
5. Abbey Falls
Abbey Falls is located about 144 km from Mangalore. Abbey Falls is the part of river Kaveri. It was earlier called as Jessi falls. The waterfalls are located between coffee plantation estate with trees entwined with pepper vines. There was a hanging bridge constructed just opposite to the falls. Water flow will be much higher during the monsoon.
6. Namdroling Monastery
Namdroling Monastery is located in Bylakuppe, part of the Mysore district of the state of Karnataka. It is the teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. Namdroling Monastery is one of the six great Nyingmapa Mother monasteries of Tibet prior to annexation. Its initial structure was a temple constructed from bamboo, covering an area of approximately 80 square feet. It is additionally known as the Golden Temple.
7. Iruppu Falls
The Iruppu Falls is located in Brahmagiri Range in the Kodagu district. It is a fresh water cascade, situated at a distance of 48 km from Virajpet on the highway to Nagarhole. The Iruppu falls is also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls. . A famous Shiva temple, the Rameshwara Temple is situated on the banks of the Iruppu Falls.
8. Honnamana Kere Lake
It is a holy place in Doddamalthe near the village of Sulimalthe town of Coorg in the state of Karnataka, India. It is the biggest lake in Coorg. The lake is named after Goddess Honnamana, adjacent to this lake is a temple dedicated to the goddess Honnamana. Lake is surrounded by coffee plantation, mountains and cliffs.
9. Raja’s Seat
Raja’s Seat is an artificial fountains and it is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in madikeri of Coorg. The structure is a small square in brick and mortar of four pillars bridged by arches, enhanced by beautiful surroundings. The Kodagu King used to watch the sun setting from this Raja’s seat. Set among charming gardens and a misted valley in the background, it makes for a scenic sight.
10. Tadiandamol Peak
Tadiandamol peak is the highest peak of Kodagu district. The peak has patches of sholaforests in the valleys. This was one of the landmarks mapped during the Great Trigonometric Survey. It is a great place for trekkers and naturalists. Camping in Tadiandamol peak has been banned since December 2016.
